Surviving Infidelity Advice
Nothing can tear a hole in your heart like the trauma of infidelity to your marriage or relationship. It is a betrayal, loss of trust, and a heartache unlike any other relationship problems.
Shock is usually the first response. For me, I felt numb, doubted myself, and was able to barely function. This was quickly followed by anger I didn't realize I could feel. It was almost a rage that only betrayal of such an intimate relationship came bring. This alternated with self-pity. I felt worthless sometimes. Other times I was consumed with thoughts of revenge. But, the overwhelming, consistent feeling in my heart was a question: Why? This was quickly followed with: Can I survive and get through this?
Family and friends offered support. At least from the few I told. I also felt ashamed. Enough that very few knew. But even the most caring and loving of friends and family cannot be objective. This is one of the reasons this site was created - to provide objective and somewhat anonymous advice. I tried to create a thorough infidelity advice site, whether you are suspecting infidelity, conducting an infidelity investigation or, surviving infidelity as well as other womens relationship problems advice.
Surviving infidelity is possible.
If you take away only two thoughts from this site, I hope they are:
-
You did NOT deserve this. There is nothing you could have done to cause anyone to be unfaithful. Sure, there may have been other relationship problems in which you played a part, but the decision to go outside the relationship rests solely with him. It doesn't matter if you were the meanest, most unattractive, unlovable, silly, stupid, lazy, too heavy, too skinny, shrill voiced, nagging, complaining, whining wretch on the planet. Even then, you did not deserve to be betrayed.
